LRF Starter Kit - Fluorocarbon

A specially selected collection of items to get you up and rolling with the light stuff! Prepare yourself for some fun! It sounds almost too simple, but this lot will catch you fish after fish after fish... (disclaimer: if you put them in the right places!! :-)

This one contains the same rod and reel options, but gives you the chance to take things in their very simplest form. The braid kit is more complete and a better all-rounder, but this is as simple as it gets, at a lesser price!

The kit contains:

Rod: Awa-Shima Q-Lite Spin 220

A lightweight, lovely balanced rod representing absolutely amaaaazing value! Solid tipped and rated from 1-5g this one's super sensitive and perfect for casting small jigheads and tiny soft lures. Even a Goby will feel like a monster, but at the same time you'll have the power to land the odd beastie too!

Reel: Shimano Catana 1000FB or Shimano Nexave 1000FC or Shimano Exage 1000FC

1000 size reels look and feel tiny on first inspection, but truth be told they're the perfect match for this style of fishing. They hold more than enough braid of fluorocarbon, balance perfectly with the selected rod and have more than enough ower to land even large fish. Take your pick between three Shimano models to suit your budget.

Mainline: Yamatoyo Spinning Fluoro 3lb

Brilliant value, good quality fluorocarbon mainline. Not as capable of casting long distances as the braid set-up, but you will quickly discover that LRF species are not far out! The advatnage of using a fluorocarbon mainline is that you don't need to faff around with a leader. Just tie a jighead to the end and away you go!...

Lures: Marukyu Power Isome - Large

There is no better LRF lure. Since we're keeping it simple and just giving you one option, there is nothing better. One single pack (15 worms). Top tip is to break them in to half or thirds rather than always using the whole worm!

Jigheads: Ecogear Shirase Fine Head - 2.3g.

One pack of the finest jigheads available. These are the very best hooks for Power Isome. At 2.3g these are heavy enough to give you reasonable casting distance on the fluorocarbon mainline.
