Here I've selected a very few items that will get you going perfectly, without having to over-think it! Buy any of these and you won't go wrong. Below is a small selection of jigheads, lures and lines, keeping it as simple as possible. The Fluorocarbon starter kit includes EVERYTHING that you will need to start. However, if you need extras and are wondering where to start, the small selected lures and jigheads are perfect to get you going. All are good quality and work well - leaving you to worry less about what to buy and think more about the fish you'll catch! Start with jigheads around the 2-3g mark and work down from there - especially once we get in to winter when 1g heads start to become more useful again. LRF rods are lightweight and sensitive, generally rated between about 0.5 and 10g as a maximum. Lengths vary from below 7 feet to over 8 feet. These are suitable for casting ultra light jigs and soft lures.
