Description

Every time a new rod comes in it's tempting to say it's the the "best ever!". In the case of the Solidz rods though, every customer who had seen the UK's first sample that I had in the shop was left absolutely stunned by the feeling of these. Different from the norm; completely solid blanks (no tubular parts - it's literally solid) have been done before, but the only ones I'd seen were bulky, heavier rods. My brain is lost for words on how to express how mind-blowing these rods feel. Responsive beyond belief! The amount of feeling that is transmitted back through the blank is on another level to everything before it. For such a cheap rod, they are unbelievable! One piece and just 1.8m (6 feet) in lenghth, they've been designed for freshwater fishing around our towns and cities, or for canal banks where long rods just aren't necessary and a population of perch, pike, zander and chub wait in anticipation. Sensitive tips give way to a powerful butt section - the perfect match for jigheads from 3-14g and lures in the 3" - 4" class. That said, my first impression of them was just how good'a light boat rod they would make for our inshore bass type stuff. With something like an XLayer on a 7g head, if I had even £400 in my pocket for a rod I'd be saving it and buying one of these instead. If it sounds like I'm being over enthusiastic, it's nothing but genuine. For the money and for the feel I've not seen a better rod in this weight range, regardless of cost. Admittedly, the guides may not be top quality, and the reel seat is nothing but effective, but the blank of this rod is UNBREAKABLE. Not that I want you to try and break it, but come and visit the shop and together we can bend these things in to all kinds of shapes. Me the 600lb marlin and you playing youself at the butt end. Hooking a fish on this rod, be it a big pollack, wrasse or healthy bass you will never feel like the rod is going to let you down. While I'm thinking about the boat, zander anglers will love these for vertical work too! Coming in a range of four colours to choose from, you can always ensure that you have a different one to your mate, or can differentiate yourself between which rod you had combined with which rig if taking more than one (useful on the boat). SHIPPING costs are one thing with this rod! It's one piece and a cheap rod. If you've ever looked in to it you'll know that posting rods of this length is an expensive exercise (approx. £20 for the UK mainland (excluding highlands and NI)). Even the boxes cost more than two quid. For this reason, an extra £15 has been added here to cover this huge expense. In store, you can pick up one of these rods for just £69.99! For every additional rod you order, £15 will be refunded for the overpayment of shipping (since rods can be packed in one tube). On all orders under £100 you will be charged the usual £8.50 (Jan 2017) shipping charge as well. This brings the total postage and packing on my side to approx £21.50, which covers the £19.07 shipping cost plus the £2.50 for the cost of the packaging). Spro say: Solidz make up a very special range. These rods are made from completely solid carbon making them extremely durable and strong, perfect for the urban fishing environment. They are made in a practical length of 1.8M. With vibrant colours such as “Pumpkin Fusion” or “Cosmic Plasma”, choose your rod for your style. Each rod comes with a specially designed bag for built up rods.
