Description

We first bought Tict rods to the UK in around 2011. I've always absolutely loved them. The brand new b4 range is a superbly built range of rods that mirrors or betters everything I've seen from Tict "b4" (get it?!). Like the Inbite's that we've sold in the past, the b4's are a rod that combines superb lightness with an incredible amount of power (considering the lightness). That's not to say they're overly powerful rods though. Far from it, they're ideal all-round LRF or perch rods, capable of fishing the lightest weights. They do however have a steeliness about them that gives you confidence should you hook something larger, or need to fish something bigger, they will do it. Rated to 7g, this model is one that I would perhaps fish jigheads to 3g or 4g and dropshots of the same, with soft plastics up to around a slim 3", max. Absolutely perfect with anything smaller! 7'4" is the ideal length for an all-round lightweight rod. Perfect for tucking in over close range cover and short enough to maintain perfect lure control.

Length 7'4"
Stated Casting Weight 0.1-7g
Casting weight accuracy 8/10. Really not bad at all. Sensitive in the tip for those lighter jigs (although I don't believe anybody would want to fish 0.1g, or whether any rod could realistically do it with any level on feeling!!!). I think at the upper end 7g is a nice estimate. It'll handle metal casting jigs or Caro of that weight.
How light does it feel in the hand? 8/10. Because it's so well balanced and it's just such a class rod, they feel super light!
Weight 93g
Action Extra Fast
Tip Type Solid
Tip Stiffness. Soft (1) to Stiff (10). 3/10. Nice and soft.
Solid Tip Length 29cm
Solid Tip Taper Speed 3/10. Slim throughout - quite a slow taper.
Grip Length Total 34cm
Balance (from centre of reel seat) 19.5cm. This isn't far off being one of the best in class.
Handle length to centre of reel seat from butt end. 27cm
How slim is the blank? 9/10. The B4's are the overall slimmest in class at present. Certainly at the butt end.
Guide Type Fuji K-R (Stainless Sic)
Number of guides 8
Line Rating 0.1-0.6PE
Recovery Speed 8/10. You can tell the rod has a very high carbon content.
How balanced does it feel in the hand? 7/10. A little more weight forward than the tubular version but there's no denying they feel great.
How stiff does it feel? Soft (1) to Stiff (10). 6/10. Just a nice combination of power lower down with a nice forgiving tip.
Sections Two equal.
