8' Lure Rod

Like I've mentioned on the description of the 9 footer, this 8 foot version (2.4m) is an absolutely ideal all-rounder for fishing both hard and soft baits. While writing the description of the 9 foot version, I did state that I thought it was my favourite of the rods, but having messed around with this one again while taking photos, it's a really, really close call! Which you chose between the two is likely to be more down to personal preference length-wise at the end of the day. This 8 footer may be slightly more suitable if you fish large soft baits (XLayers, DoLive stick's etc.) quite regularly, but the 9 footer would probably be my own choice if I fished a slightly higher proportion of hard baits, or fished around storm beaches a lot.

Again, this one will handle jigheads down to around 7g and blast out hard baits extremely easily. Lovely rods!

NB: For anybody who's unsure, these rods are completely different to the previous range of AFAW ''Lure & Bait'' rods. They're not an upgrade, but a completely new range of top class, dedicated UK plugging rods.
