'10 Certate Hi Gear Custom 2508 RH

O......M........G!!! Having had our hands on the 2010 Certate's for a good few months now I kind of knew what we'd be looking at with these pumped up HiGear models. What we've got though is better than that....

I was expecting the gear ratio's to be higher, but at 5:6:1 and retrieving 84cm of line for every turn of the handle, these are EXACTLY what I've personally been looking for.

Like other Daiwa 2500R models, this one is based around the body and gears of a 3000 model, but with the spool size of a 2500 (or 2508 in this case - taking 150m of 8lb mono s an estimate). In my opinion this is a perfect match for most general plugging applications on almost any modern rod below about 8'6' or maybe 9', depending on weight. So what you get is loads of power all wound up in an overall smaller package.

Super, super classy reels, people in the shop can never quite believe just how smooth the Certates are. These include all the same features (including Mag Seal) as the standard versions and perfectly matches the likes of the Nories Flatfish or Rockfish rods.
