Daiwa Exceler LT 4000
- Brand: Daiwa
The new Exceler is one of my favourite Daiwa reels to date. Not only because of the amazing value, but the quality feel too. They're pretty much a slightly cheaper version of the Fuego - without the Magseal features (which you could argue makes them easier to self-service). They're light too - being part of the new LT range of reels from Daiwa. Light and Tough. They're compact but with monster gears inside compared to a lot of the competition. You won't be disappointed.
This 4000 size is the perfect all-rounder. They're in-between a normal Daiwa 2500 and 3000 size. Lovely! Perfect on those 9' bass rods, especially when you're chucking a few plugs around and want just a bit more power. The LT 3000 size is worth looking at iof you're mostly fishing lighter soft plastics - being the same size as an older 2500. The 5000 size is just a touch bigger than this one, with a wider spool.
The handle knob on the 3000/4000/5000 is the larger T style rather than the smaller one pictured.
