Daiwa Exceler LT 5000
- Brand: Daiwa
The new Exceler is one of my favourite Daiwa reels to date. Not only because of the amazing value, but the quality feel too. They're pretty much a slightly cheaper version of the Fuego - without the Magseal features (which you could argue makes them easier to self-service). They're light too - being part of the new LT range of reels from Daiwa. Light and Tough. They're compact but with monster gears inside compared to a lot of the competition. You won't be disappointed.
This 5000 size is the equivalent of roughly a "standard" 3000 sized Daiwa, or 4000 size Shimano. Well suited to longer bass rods or shorter, more powerful rods for the boat. The 5000 isn't too dissimilar to the 4000, but has a wider spool.
The handle knob on the 3000/4000/5000 is the larger T style rather than the smaller one pictured.
"Absolutely incredible value!"
