Nomura Aichi 90MH

BASS

WOW! I've known about the Nomura brand for a few years, but considering that other local shops were already stocking some of the range, I let them go and didn't pay too much interest. They can't be that good, right? Just like all the others?.... WRONG!

This 9 footer is a dream of a rod. Rated to 45g it's naturally quite powerful, but it's so, so light, crisp and fast at the same time. The fine, 1.7mm tip is also more like any normal 35g rated rod in reality. And less than 15g will be well doable. A lot like the HTO Nebula which have found favour over the last couple of years it's the kind of rod that blows everything else in the price rang out of the water (The Aichi is actually better balanced and slimmer with a similar degree of tip taper). In terms of all-round bass rods for folks on a bit more of a budget, this rod feels like it will do anything you ask of it. Perhaps it's not the best rod for an unweighted soft plastic, but for everything else (especially punching a metal or Patchinko) it's a peach of a rod. I do feel like the 45g rating is perhaps a bit optimistic, but in real terms this makes it a better rod that the specs suggest. A brilliant all-rounder. I'm reassured that having such a large European base, spares are easily available too.

This rod is most like the Nebula 270 (90M), 35g rated model than the 42g version - despite its 45g rating.

Nomura say:

8 casting weights and 8 different sizes.

This time the Nomura team has really worked overtime to produce perfection.

The need for fishing with highly sensitive rods has led to the design of this series, with a spigot joint and tube jig tip for maximum speed in the strike. The blank of the rod is made using carbon 30 T, one of the most durable yet lightweight carbons which today is used in fishing tackle.

The measures from 6′6″ up to 8′ will allow you to fish from the boat or from the rocks, with the light jig head, or can also be used at sea when trying to catch a big fish with a long cast from the beach using big hard lures of up to 45 grams.

FUJI guides and reel seat complete the series.
